Irrigation System Efficiency Program
Helping Your Farm Use Water Wisely
We offer free, one-on-one irrigation support to help you make the most of your water and improve your system's performance. Services are available on your farm in English and/or Spanish.
During a site visit, our irrigation technician evaluates your exciting drip or sprinkler system by measuring water pressure and flow. These measurements help us assess distribution uniformity (DU) - how evenly water reaches your crop and identify practical ways to improve irrigation efficiency.
By helping farmers use water more efficiently, this program supports the long-term viability of local farms and helps protect and preserve agricultural land for future generations.
Our Program's History
From April 2022 through January 2026, funding from the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA), through its Water Efficiency Technical Assistance (WETA) Program, helped us provide irrigation evaluations to more than 100 agricultural producers. Working alongside local farmers reinforced the value of accessible, hands-on support for improving water use.
Thanks to support from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS), we can continue offering these free services for another two years, through September 2028.
