If you’re thinking about starting a backyard beehive or are just curious about what’s involved with keeping honey bees, then this is a great introductory class for you. Local author Hilary Kearney will teach bee-centric, San Diego based beekeeping practices which are often the opposite of what is presented in beekeeping books. So, whether you are a total beginner or an intermediate level beekeeper, this class will teach you a ton. The class will cover honey bee biology and behaviors as well as practical information like where to set up your apiary and what equipment you need. No bee suit required.
