Soil Surveys

The USDA San Diego County Soil Survey includes soil maps (coordinates with USGS topographic maps) plus a description of soil types and capabilities.

If you are a landowner or conservation association, you may stop by the office to view soil maps and relevant information.

Professionals in need of a complete San Diego County Soil Survey may request one at inquiries@rcdsandiego.org or by calling (760) 745-2061, x3. We will need a mailing address as well as a phone number. The survey weighs several pounds and will arrive via parcel post in 7 to 15 working days from date of mailing. Because the number of surveys in print are limited, we do ask that you return them upon completion of your project in San Diego County.
