Storm Water Pollution Prevention - Keeping San Diego Bay Clean
For grades 2, 5, and 6. Using posters and a watershed model, children are introduced to the concepts of a watershed and water pollution. Students will "pollute" the watershed, and predict the effects of various pollutants on the environment. Students then discuss how we can change our behaviors to help stop water pollution.
Each program meets the state science standards, and includes classroom materials and hands-on interactive science activities for all grade levels. Fees are $150 per program, and $75 per program for additional classes at the same school on the same day.
Reservations are required at least two weeks in advance. Book early in the year to guarantee availability. Open dates and reservation forms are available by calling 619-562-0096 ext. 105, or click icon for reservation form
Fees will be waived if your school falls within the San Diego Bay Watershed boundary. The San Diego Unified Port District is funding watershed programs for 2nd, 5th and 6th grade classes within qualifying school districts. Please call (619) 562-0096 ext 105 to see if your school falls within this geographical area, or contact Samantha Quinsey, Education Coordinator, at samantha.quinsey@rcdsandiego.org.
