you may view flyer by clicking on logo below

What You Can Do

Don't risk starting a new infestation of an invasive insect or disease.

You have the power to save trees.

Don't take firewood with you on your camping trip, RV adventure, or up to your hunting camp. Don't bring firewood back from your second home to your place in the suburbs. Don't bring it with you on your scout's camping trip. Instead, buy it where you'll burn it.

You can still have a roaring campfire, or a cozy night in front of the fireplace, if you just know how to burn safe.

The FSCSDC is a member of the California Fire Safe Council and is authorized to use the name “Fire Safe Council” and the FSC logo.  The RCD has been a parner and member of the Board of Directors of the FSCSDC since its formation in 1997. Ther RCD administers all programs of the FSCSDC. All Fire Safe Council members have the following common goals:

  • Promote Fire Safety Education
  • Encourage Pre-Fire Management
  • Attend Meetings
  • Participate in Fire Safe Council Programs and Activities

Associate Membership Program

Approved Associate Members are Community Fire Safe Council members that serve as non-voting advisors to the Board of Directors.  One At-Large council person is selected from all the Associate Members to sit as a voting member of the Board of Directors.  Active participation in the Associate Membership Program is highly encouraged.

Your Community Fire Safe Council’s opinions, concerns and activities are not only important to us and your community, but they are germane to what we are striving to accomplish.  Without everyone’s involvement, we are less focused in achieving our goals. Working together as partners, we can utilize our combined experience, expertise and common objectives to ensure our homes, businesses and communities are well-protected from the perils of wildfire.
