The 2018 RCD Conservation Scholarship is now open for applications!

The RCD Conservation Scholarship is an annual scholarship program for graduating high school seniors pursuing further education in the fields of resource conservation, environmental sciences, or agriculture. The scholarship is available to students residing in or attending school within the RCD of Greater San Diego County boundaries (click here for map). Five scholarships of $1,000 are awarded each year. Winners will be notified by mail by May 4, 2018 and will receive their prize at their school's Senior Awards Night.

Application deadline Scholarship applications are due by 5pm on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. Please contact our office with any questions.
Who is eligible Applicants must:
  1. Be residents within the RCD of Greater San Diego County's sphere of influence (see map).
  2. Have successfully completed three years of study at an accredited high school.
  3. Be nearing completion of their fourth year in high school while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better (on a 4.0 scale).
  4. Expect, or have received, a "notice of intent" to enroll in undergraduate college courses related to resource conservation or agriculture.  
How applicants are evaluated Applications will be evaluated as follows:
30% on academics
25% on original essay
25% on student's activities
10% on letters of recommendation
10% on quality of application
